About the Ortho Evra Contraceptive Patch
Concerns about the Birth Control Patch and its Maker
Maker: Ortho McNeil Pharmaceuticals, a division of Johnson & Johnson
The manufacturer of the Ortho Evra birth control patch is Ortho
McNeil Pharmaceuticals, a division of Johnson & Johnson.
As of September 2006, studies confirmed that increased estrogen
levels could be detected in women having used the Ortho Evra
Contraceptive Patch which increases the chance for blood clots.
Levels were determined to be at 60% more total estrogen in blood
stream than when taking oral contraceptives. The increased chances
of blood clots can then be associated with a higher rate of
strokes and heart attacks. Other serious medical problems could
also occur. If you have concerns about symptoms that may be
associated with using the Patch, please contact an Ortho Evra
attorney today.
